YOU ARE FULL OF POTENTIAL LET IT MANIFEST.
Table Mountain is a magnificent natural landmark nestled within the Aberdare Ranges, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle that attracts nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. Located in the heart of Kenya, this iconic mountain offers a captivating experience for visitors, making it an excellent addition to any tour and travel itinerary.
Rising majestically to a height of 3971 meters above sea level, Table Mountain presents a distinctive flat-topped summit, resembling a colossal table in the sky. This unique shape provides an unparalleled vantage point for breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including lush green valleys, dense forests, and beautiful rock formations.
Hiking demands sacrifice and denial of essentials like enough sleep that eve, waking up so early to make sure you board your vehicle by or before 04:00AM, the reason majority are saying hiking is a “cult”. Exactly 8:23AM rubber met the road after brief introduction, warm up and stretches. The team was full of energy, determination and above all taking the photo at the summit was the main mission.
The agreement was to do Table Mountain only and reverse, the 6.2km to the summit was too short and the thought of proceeding to Seven Pods won the battle. Here, the 3km to seven pods was a child play, counting the pods one by one was fun finding the seventh one was a real challenge. Done with the business of counting pods, lets descend now. The 7km to finish point was moderate as compared to Table Mountain to finish point.
Half of the team defying all odds and proceeding to another summit which was not programmed taught me a number of lessons;
1. The most important conversation you’ll ever have are the ones you’ll have with yourself. Always have a winner’s mentality.
2. The hardest mountain to climb is one within, with passion and determination all mountain tops are within the reach, convince your mind.
3. Surround yourself with the right souls/hikers, “Some mountains only require a good pair of shoes. Others require an entire team to conquer. Knowing which is which, is the key to success.”– We Dream of Travel
4. Nothing that is impossible indeed we can do all things “People do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things.” – Edmund Hillary
5. We are full of potential we just need to push harder; you are in danger of living a life so comfortable and soft that you will die without ever realizing your true potential."
6. Weather is not a bother to hikers, they arm themselves with the right gears, if the winter is too cold and the summer is too hot you are not a hiker.
Good bye Table Mountain and Seven pods Next, we are doing;
1. Mt Longonot on 22nd July
2. Kereita Forest on 29th July
