You have probably read this story in different versions but listen, there lived a man by the name Lord Egerton. A young man full of nyadhi. He Had good looks and Money. When he fell in love, he fell with all his body parts, not forgetting his dear brains . Well, don't we all do that? I believe You guys know these things.Love is a respector of no man. A man in love is like a child. His fiancée, a goddess from the lands of milk and honey wanted big things in life. Everything big. Her name was Victoria.

Immediately Lord Egerton purchased the Land in Nakuru over the colonial era, he built himself two houses which were of a small size. The first had two bedrooms and that angered his fiancée so much.  She never visited him. He built the second one with four bedrooms. While staying in the second house, Lord Egerton asked her to move in with him but like we said, the babe wanted big things in life and four bedrooms weren't big enough to accommodate her pretty self. She still turned down his offer saying she couldn't live in a chicken's house. Now, this is where we are supposed to pose the question "but what do women want?"  Ha-ha!

On several attempts, Lord Egerton attempted to ask for his fiancée's hand in marriage but she couldn't settle for less.  A girl beby had class.  "Build me a big castle and I'll marry you,' she said. He was in love. "anything for you baby," He said.

Work began. Day and night he strived to build the castle. Not just any castle but a BIG castle for his princess. His determination to impress would Only be compared to that of a Luo man when barbequing Nairobi babes. He Worked tirelessly to win his lover's heart. However,  even after building the castle, she still turned down the offer calling the castle a boring museum. Ungedu? Dear men, mngedu?

That whole incident left our Alejandro dejected. He broke up with miss victoria and decided to stay in the castle alone till the time of his sad and lonely death, reportedly due to chest complications.

It is said that from his disappointments, Lord Egerton grew a very strong dislike and FEAR for Women and resolved to loving animals. Hence the phrase FEAR WOMEN. He never married in his entire life and never allowed  women Near his castle. To make sure that was enforced, He put up signs everywhere around the castle stating that any woman who approached the castle would be killed. That was too much hate.Huh!

After his death, the 53 roomed castle was opened to the public, chargeable an entrance fee of kshs. 250 per adult and an extra Kshs.300 for Cameras. You will most definitely find people going over for photography, team building, chamas, Weddings, picnics, etc. It's beautiful lawns offer an aesthetic feeling that makes one want to stay longer or even goback for more.
